Pēteris Vaickovskis has earned a master’s degree from Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, majoring in choral conducting under Sigvards Kļava. Additionally, Vaickovskis studied the trombone, organ, and harpsichord. He expanded theoretical and practical knowledge of early music at the Amsterdam University of Arts under professors Jos Vermunt and Jos van Veldhoven. Vaickovskis furthered his knowledge with Dirk Snelling, Doulce Mémoire, Paul Hillier, Peter Phillips and other Early music specialists.
Pēteris Vaickovskis ir the founder and artistic director of the early music ensemble Ars Antiqua Riga (since 2013) and has been a singer since 2011, as well as the choirmaster since 2024 of the Latvian Radio Choir. Also Pēteris is a member of the Riga Sackbut Consort (since 2021).
Last season, Vaickovskis participated in Andrew Lawrence-King's (conductor and composer) Claudio Monteverdi restored opera Arianna a la recherche, which was performed in Estonia. He also performed in Belgium and France with one of the most outstanding Flemish early music ensemble Vox Luminis. With the early music ensemble Ars Antiqua Riga Vaickovskis participated in early music festival Aurore 2024 in Helsinki, Finland.
